Spain's Renovalia puts up 15 MW in Hungary

HUNGARY: Spanish renewables developer Renovalia Energy says it has landed a €16million finance deal for its 15MW Babolna wind development in Hungary, under construction since January this year.

Danish turbine manufacturer Vestas is installing a mix of its 2MW and 3MW models at the Babolna site. Commissioning is scheduled for July this year. The finance package was signed with Hungary's OTP Bank.

The project will bring Renovalia's global cumulative wind capacity to 567MW across Europe and North and Central America. The company claims to operate 39MW in Hungary already-almost 20% of the country's 201MW cumulative total-with a further 32MW on the way, including Bablona.
