Wind Wire: Brazil - Servtec brings more than 100MW online

In the first part of the year, Brazilian wind company Servtec brought 107MW into commercial operation as part of its Parque Bons Ventos Aracati wind farm in the north-eastern state of Ceara.

The first 57MW came into operation in January, and 50MW in February, both using Suzlon 2.1MW turbines. Servtec plans to invest BRL 780 million ($419 million) to reach 139MW at the location. This will be the largest wind farm in Brazil and a big jump from its recent projects, says Servtec president Lauro Fiuza Jr.
