Build looms for Africa's biggest project as deal is signed

KENYA: Construction could start soon on Africa's largest wind power plan to date, following the signature of a 20-year power purchase agreement.

The deal for the 310MW project at Lake Turkana in northern Kenya was struck between Lake Turkana Wind Power and state utility Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), which will buy the output at a fixed rate of EUR0.0722/kWh.
