RP Global recieve go-ahead for €64m Croatian wind farm

CROATIA: A preliminary construction permit has been granted for the 43 MW first phase of a planned 90 MW wind park in Croatia.

The €64 million wind park is being developed by RP CSE Global company, a member of the RP Global Group, and will built across three locations in the wider region of Vrpolje near Sibenik (Velika Glava, Bubrig and Crni Vrh).

RP Global is active in Spain, Portugal, France, Poland and Chile, but this is the company's first project in Croatia. In the first phase, 21 turbines are being installed.

The planned annual output of the wind park is about 104 GWh and the project will also include the construction of substations in the area of Velika Glava and an eight kilometre transmission line to the Podi entrepreneurial zone.

"We intend to complete the development process of this project by the summer 2010 and if everything is fine, construction would begin in the autumn to be completed in the spring of 2011," says Bojan Rescec, director of the company's Croatia subsidiary.
