Wind wire: Opposition

Two groups, the Protect the Lives of the People of Minamata and Thinking about Wind Power, are opposed on health and environmental grounds. The residents of Minamata, the site of one of history's most infamous industrial poisoning scandal, often greet expert assurance on safety with scepticism. They have responded to testimony that residents of Higashi Izu, in Shizuoka Prefecture further east, have blamed headaches on local wind farms.
