According to spokesperson Liu Chang, the company hopes to create extensive overseas marketing channels and is in discussions with partners to construct manufacturing bases and research and development centres overseas. The company aims for overseas sales to eventually account for 30-40% of total revenue. The company declines to elaborate further on its plans. Domestic rival Goldwind already plans to ship three of its 1.5 MW direct-drive turbines for installation at a wind project in the US state of Minnesota (see page 28).
