Wind wire: Dobrogea wind farm

Romanian developer New Energy Group will begin erecting turbines this month for a planned 28 MW wind farm located in the Dobrogea region, Romania's most popular area for wind power development.

The project is using 800 kW machines from German manufacturer Enercon. "Twenty turbines should be installed this year and 15 next year," says Marian Turbatu, managing director of New Energy Group, based in Constance, Romania. The plant is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2010.
