Located at Alacati, on the west coast near Izmir, the project consists of nine Nordex 2.5 MW turbines. Bilgin has ordered a further 36 machines, also at 2.5 MW each, from the German turbine manufacturer, which will be delivered to Soma, north-east of Izmir, in January. They are scheduled for commissioning by mid-2010. This is the second order under a master contract for 210 MW signed with Nordex early last year. The first was also for 36 of the 2.5 MW units, which are being installed at Aliaga, north of Izmir. Nordex, which opened an office in Istanbul last April, says it has contracts for 300 MW in Turkey.
Wind Wire: Project Completion
Bilgin Enerji, one of Turkey's leading owner-operators of wind and hydro projects, completed its 23 MW Mazi-3 wind project in September.
