Wind Wire: Spanish investment

Spanish company Invall Green Energy is investing EUR720 million to build wind farms at three sites in eastern Macedonia.

Inval-Espana's Giordi Moliner says the company will build a 198 MWplant comprising 66 as yet unspecified 3 MW turbines in Stip, south-east of the capital Skopje. Construction of the EUR240 million project is to start next summer. The 240 MW Sveti Nikole project is to be made up of 80 wind turbines and, at Kriva Palanka, 50 turbines will have a combined generating capacity of 150 MW. When fully operational, the three wind farms could supply enough energy for around 350,000 households, preventing the emission of 155,000 tonness of carbon dioxide.
