LM Glasfiber has warned that it might be required to fire nearly half its workforce because of dwindling sales. LM's Anders Christensen puts the blame for the lull on delayed orders, particularly from India, plus seasonal market fluctuations. He hopes, however, that business will pick up again to prevent the firing of at least some of the 330 workers he has warned might lose their jobs. LM employs 750 in total. Nineteen-ninety-five was a record year for LM and the reduction in workforce could be no more than a return to a more normal level of business, says Christensen.
