DEWI centre to aid offshore wind

The Deutsches Windenergie-Institut (DEWI) at Wilhelmshaven and the local district of the port of Cuxhaven have founded an Offshore and Certification Centre in Cuxhaven to provide an independent "centre of excellence" for wind energy use at sea. Its activities are to include contributions to offshore certification, regular monitoring of wind turbines, development of technical norms and training for offshore staff. The state of Lower Saxony will provide financial support for the first two years of activities.
