Shares issued for series of projects across Britain

Wind energy finance specialists Triodos Bank of the Netherlands has launched a £5 million share issue enabling the public to invest in a series of renewable projects across Britain. Triodos invests in small-scale renewables and has financed more than 150 projects in Europe. Investors in Triodos Renewables should earn a financial return, with projected annual dividends rising to over 12% within five years, says the bank. Charles Secrett, former head of Friends of the Earth, is chair of Triodos Renewables, which was formerly known as the Wind Fund. He says the share issue offers a clear opportunity to enjoy financial and environmental benefits by investing in new renewable power plant. The minimum stake is £980 (EUR 1420). The bank says it plans to invest the money in a variety of developments, including a small stake in a large offshore wind plant project.
