Pellworm wind station start
1 September 1997
Work on installing eight AN Bonus 600 kW/44.3 wind turbines was started last month by AN Maschinenbau und Umweltschutzanlagen on the German island of Pellworm. The wind station is to be connected to the grid in the second week of September, although it will initially operate with a restricted output until utility Schleswag completes necessary grid work. AN will provide service and maintenance for the plant from its branch in Fiel near Heide. The operator of the wind station is Pellworm Energie Erzeugungsgesellschaft, a company set up by the island's residents, says AN. The project planning was undertaken by Henning Holst and Partner of Husum. The wind station is expected to deliver about 13 million kWh annually.
