Body Shop cosmetics retailer gets greener
High street retailer The Body Shop, which sells organic cosmetic materials, is the latest high profile electricity customer to switch to a greener supply of power. It has signed up with Ecotricity for supplies to its London head office, its manufacturing premises at Littlehampton, and over 100 UK shops. The move saves around 6800 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. The power is generated from a range of renewables: wind, hydro, landfill gas and sewage. Ecotricity pledges that its customers do not pay any more than for conventional supplies.
