Enercon says its total sales since starting business, at home and abroad, amounted to nearly 1050 MW at the close of the year. The company has sales offices in Austria, Sweden, Greece, Australia, Egypt, Great Britain, Portugal, India and Brazil. Manufacture of Enercon machines has started in India, with 34 of the E30 model (200 kW to 280 kW) built at Enercon's Indian manufacturing facility in Bombay. In Brazil, almost all components for the 30, E40 machines installed near Fortaleza last year were shipped from the company's Aurich works in Germany; the blades, however, were built by Wobben Windpower in Sao Paulo, which also exports rotor blades. Enercon export projects being commissioned last month were a 27.5 MW station using E40 500 kW machines on Crete and a 2.5 MW wind station in Palmas in southern Brazil, also comprising E40 units. Enercon says that 1529 of its 500 kW E40 are now on line, with the E30 200-280 kW being the next most popular model with 188 sold to date. The 300 kW E33 follows closely, with 185 sold, and 117 of the 1.5 MW E66 are now turning.
