Dating agency in Scotland for wind technology suppliers and customers

An initiative to give Scottish companies a bigger slice of the growing wind energy market at home and abroad has been launched by Scottish Enterprise. Some 2500 businesses have been invited to consider supplying goods and services to the industry which in the UK alone is expected to be worth £2.6 billion over the next ten years. The Glasgow based office of consultants Garrad Hassan & Partners has been appointed to run the exercise which involves briefing potential Scottish suppliers in detail on the wind power market and introducing them to manufacturers and developers. "We are trying to be a dating agency of suppliers and customers," says Andrew Fellows from Garrad Hassan. He explains that all assistance is provided free of charge and costs of expert technical advice from industry leaders are underwritten by Scottish Enterprise. Briefing seminars are to be held in major Scottish cities. Fellows points out that a major conference on renewable energy at Aberdeen in late February will provide an opportunity for bringing suppliers into contact with customers.
