LM Glasfiber has a new British director, Paul Anthony, to replace Anders D Christensen, who was removed from his post by the company's owners on July 7. LM is owned by Doughty Hansen, a venture capital fund operating out of London. Anthony replaces interim managing director Bob Mackenzie, who is expected to be elected to the LM board. Anthony is described as "a very experienced international business executive" with experience as executive chairman of a number of international energy companies and a wealth of knowledge about deregulated energy markets. His renewable energy experience includes building Energy Power Resources (EPR), mainly involved in straw-fired and poultry-litter fired power stations, into the largest renewable energy generator in the UK. Through its 50% ownership of Yorkshire Windpower, EPR has a stake in two of Britain's oldest wind farms. Anthony has also held senior management positions in British Gas, major UK generator PowerGen and New Zealand's Contact Energy. LM Glasfiber is the world's largest supplier of rotor blades to the wind industry with a workforce of 2430 in eight countries, with factories in Denmark, Spain, the US, India and China.
