The renewables industry in Schleswig-Holstein has founded German Renewable Energy Enterprises (GREE), to jointly promote their technologies for export. So far GREE has eight members: turbine manufacturers Autoflug, GET Danwin, Husumer Schiffswerft, Jacobs Energie and Heide; the Windtest station at Kaiser-Wilhelm-Koog; wind turbine and blade designer, Aerodyn; a solar systems company, ASE, of Wedel; and the initiator of the whole project, Wing, the wind energy support department of the Schleswig-Holstein Investment Bank. Dieter Markward from Wing says: "Although Schleswig-Holstein now has 1000 wind turbines with 315 MW in operation, Wing is concerned that wind companies in its region should not plunge into an economic black hole once wind potential in the state approaches exhaustion. GREE has been set up to find new markets abroad and will take part in renewables events coming soon in Indonesia and Vietnam." Schleswig-Holstein aims to have 2000 turbines operating with 1200 MW by 2010.
