Regional electricity company MANWEB has received approval for the first of its three north Wales sites which have NFFO-3 contracts. Ynys Mon Borough Council voted in favour of the application to build 49 Kenetech 33M-VS turbines to the north of Llyn Alaw on the island of Anglesey. MANWEB has a further planning application for 30 MW near Carno in Powys, but has not yet applied for its 40 MW site at Pentrefoelas in Clwyd. At the same planning meeting which brought good news to MANWEB, an application by Ecogen for 25 turbines at Llandrygarn was turned down.
