Umwelt develops 35 MW of new projects
German wind project developer Umweltkontor Renewable Energy expects to complete four large projects before the end of the year. This would secure its 2000 turnover target of DEM 200 million, the company says. Construction work began on wind stations at Erkelenz in North Rhine Westfalia, and at Halsdorf, Reuth, and the Hocheifel in Rheinland Palatinate. The DEM 90 million of projects involve 31 turbines from NEG Micon, Tacke/Enron and DeWind with a total capacity of 35.5 MW. The wind plant will supply enough electricity to cover the needs of a town of 70,000 residents, the company says.
