Some 10,000 people marched through central London in the UK's biggest ever protest for action on climate change. As world leaders were meeting in Montreal to thrash out an accord to take countries beyond the Kyoto agreement, British protesters heard former environment minister Michael Meacher call for more development of renewables and argue against fossil fuels and nuclear. "We need nuclear like we need a hole in the head," he said.
