TU Electrics decide on projects

A decision will "most likely" be made in May on 28 wind bids received by Texas Utilities Electric Co (TU Electric), says the company's Kathy Miller. The bids, from nine wind developers totalling 2.6 billion kWh per year, were in response to a request for proposals for 65 MW of wind for a programme of non-combustible energy sources. A proposal was also received for the turnkey sale of a large wind farm to TU Electric and for various photovoltaic projects. Factors being evaluated include value added aspects, impact upon the utility's system, developer qualifications, and technical and financial viability.
