New stand alone system developed for domestic users in Japan

Daiwa House Industry Co is to head a joint development of stand alone wind power generation systems to meet domestic power needs, according to Japanese newspaper Nikkei. The project will be in co-operation with Mothers Co, an Osaka-based power generator, and Osaka Prefecture University. Daiwa House has already installed a test model at its research institute in Nara prefecture. The partners hope to commercialise the system by the spring, according to the Nikkei report, although Daiwa declines to elaborate on the details. The generators will be used in low wind urban areas.
