PacifiCorp's Blue Sky green marketing program (Windpower Monthly, May 2000) has reached the one million kWh a month landmark. PacifiCorp lowered the premium it charges customers from $4.75 to $2.95 a month late last year. Participants now number over 5900 residential and business customers, earning the program a place on the top-ten list of utility green pricing programs. PacifiCorp, which has retail customers in Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, California, Idaho and Utah, recently signed a deal to add 3 MW of wind to its system, the first purchase resulting from the Blue Sky program. The utility owns about 33 MW of the Foote Creek plant in Wyoming and has announced a deal with SeaWest to build Rock River I, a 50 MW extension of Foote Creek, by the end of this year.
