Gamesa creates global logistics firm

As part of its global expansion strategy Gamesa has created a new international logistics company, Compass Transworld Logistics (CTL), which will provide key support for its turbine manufacture in Spain, China and the US. CTL is kicking off with a five year contract worth EUR 150-175 million to transport machines and components produced by Gamesa in Spain to "ports in the US and China and then to final destinations in the rest of the world." The new company is a joint venture with Bergé Negocios Marítimos, a global maritime logistics firm based in Spain. Gamesa holds 51% of CTL.
