Subsidiary of Canadian Boralex buys 12 MW
1 January 2006
Boralex SAS, the French subsidiary of Boralex of Canada, a renewable energy producer, recently concluded a deal to buy a 12 MW wind power project from French developer VSB Energies Nouvelles. The plant, located at Saint-Agrève in the Ardèche département of southern France, is under construction, with commissioning scheduled for October 2006. Enercon will provide the six 2 MW turbines. Boralex now manages 89 MW installed capacity in France. This includes an 8 MW plant at Plouguin in Brittany, which it also bought from VSB, and a 95% stake in what is currently the country's largest installation, the 39 MW Ally-Mercoeur installation; both were inaugurated at the end of last year (Windpower Monthly, December 2005).
