Finland's Helsingin Energia, a power company owned by the City of Helsinki, is looking for a private sector partner to develop a large offshore wind farm of around 140 turbines in the Helsinki archipelago. It is part of a strategy to help the company meet its goal for 20% of its power production to come from renewable energy by 2020. "We are looking at various locations, including a location south of Mjölö," says the city's mayor, Jussi Pajunen. The search for a site may take another 12 months, says Marti Hyvönen of Helsingin Energia.
