Ontario renewable energy mandate moves step closer

The wind industry is still awaiting a report from the Ontario government, due out before the end of the year, which will make recommendations on implementing a renewables portfolio standard in the province's electricity market. Steve Gilchrist, a member of the provincial parliament who has been appointed Ontario's Commissioner of Alternative Energy, is preparing the report, which is reportedly also looking at other measures to promote wind development.
