Suzlon boss receives global renewables award

The boss of turbine manufacturer Suzlon Energy, Tulsi R. Tanti, was awarded the World Wind Energy Award 2003 at this year's World Wind Energy Conference & Renewable Energy Exhibition held in Cape Town in November. Tanti was given the award for "the extraordinary achievements in the dissemination of wind energy technology in India, Asia and worldwide." The World Wind Energy Association, the German organisation behind the event, said it had been impressed "especially by Suzlon's successful contributions to establish a strong domestic wind industry in its country."
