The overwhelming feeling from delegates at Auswind 2005 that the bubble has burst for the Australian wind market (main story) was reflected in the exhibition. Old familiars such as Suzlon, Gamesa and Vestas rubbed cheeks on the exhibition floor, but all the stands were low key in comparison to those of previous years. The stand occupied by Pacific Hydro -- one of Australia's biggest wind developers -- was no more than a mostly unmanned table with piles of leaflets. Some companies that chose not to exhibit this year said they were put off by what they saw as overly expensive stands. In addition, if they wished to share a stand with another firm they could only have one company listed in the trade fair directory.
