Australian wind project develope, Pacific Hydro is seeking bidders for the supply, installation, operation and maintenance of wind turbines for a potential 15 MW project in Fiji. The turbines will be shipped to Viti Levu and installed on the Butoni site on the south coast of Viti Levu. The contractor will be responsible for all shipping, transport and installation of the turbines, while the developer will take responsibility for the grid connection design and implementation works. Feasibility studies carried out indicate a grid capacity of 15 MW with a preferred turbine size of less than 900 kW. The contract is expected to be implemented early in 2004 and completed prior to 2005. The project is being financed by the European Investment Bank.
