1 September 2005
France's second largest independent electricity producer, SNET, has gained a siting permit for its first wind power plant, a 9.2 MW project to be built at Lehaucourt in Picardy. Completion is expected in late 2006. The company, in which Spanish utility Endesa holds a 65% share, has applications pending for another four projects in France totalling 45 MW. It hopes to install 200 MW of wind power by 2010.
