Blue Planet, the renewables subsidiary of Romanian firm Blue Investments, expects its planned 35 MW wind farm near the Romanian town of Baia to be online by the end of 2009. The company will use 14 Nordex 2.5 MW machines on the fully authorised wind farm, which is expected to cost about EUR 60 million. Blue Planet says it has a wind farm development pipeline of 500 MW in Romania, which currently has just 9 MW of wind plant installed. Recently approved government incentives for wind power are widely seen as making investment in the wind sector an attractive proposition in Romania.
