First wind-hydrogen experiment at Wakkanai

A 4.8 kW Vantec hydrogen fuel cell, to be powered by a 225 kW wind turbine, was delivered to Japan's northernmost town, Wakkanai, in February. It is the first wind-hydrogen system to be put into operation in Japan and will provide electricity to the town's official guesthouse. The Wakkanai Alternative and Renewable Energy Study Group is behind the project.
