Vestas finishes first phase of 200 MW

Denmark's Vestas has sold 58, 850 kW wind turbines to major Chinese utility Datang, to be installed at Phase I of its 200 MW Zhalute Wind Farm, in Tongliao, Inner Mongolian. Delivery of the turbines should be complete next month. The sale includes a two year maintenance and service agreement and wind turbine operation monitoring system. Vestas has signed a co-operation agreement with Datang and the government of Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia, to jointly develop wind energy in the region. It has launched a new 850 kW turbine tailored to Inner Mongolian wind, weather and electricity grid conditions.
