The project is in Akita prefecture and consists of eight NEG Micon 750 kW turbines sited on land belonging to a former local airport where two, 400 kW turbines from the same supplier are already turning. The new wind turbines are owned by Akita Wind Power Research Institute, which is partly owned by EcoPower with various local companies.
