German developer Boreas brings 30 MW online at Boulay

German project developer Boreas saw its first wind farm in France come online last month at Boulay in the Moselle département on the German border. Nordex supplied and installed the 12, 2.5 MW turbines. They are divided into three plant of 10 MW each. Boreas retained majority ownership of one plant, selling the remaining 49% plus another 10 MW in its entirety to Iberdrola. The final 10 MW is owned by Poweo, France's largest independent electricity and gas supplier, which moved into renewables earlier this year with the purchase of local developer Espace Eolien Développement. Boreas says it has another 20-30 MW at an advanced stage of development in the Boulay area and around 50 MW nationwide.
