Construction of first 48 MW in Yunnan complete

Construction of the 48 MW Dafengba Wind Farm in Dali -- the first wind project to be built in the province of Yunnan in southwest China -- is complete. A joint venture by China Huaneng Renewable Energy and Hongkong Electric, it comprises 64, 750 kW turbines supplied by China's Windey. The units are installed in mountains at 2400-2800 metres, the highest wind farm site so far in China. The CNY 500 million project is due to begin commercial operation shortly.
