New York wind and solar campaign

Proposals for $1 million in research co-funds for projects In New York state that develop, improve or commercialise wind or solar-or to develop manufacturing methods for such products-are due on September 15, according to the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). The state agency, based in Albany, says it expects to make awards of no more than $300,000 for several projects. Its co-funding must also not exceed 50% of the project's total cost. Eligible products include wind turbines or components or products that support wind turbines or plants made within the state. The news of the fund comes as a new campaign, Wind Power New York, is being launched (Windpower Monthly, June 1999) to spur installation of 1000 MW of wind in the state within a decade
