Two recent public opinion surveys in Germany reveal that customers are more than willing to pay extra for electricity generated from renewable energy sources. In a survey for utility RWE Energie, the Forsa public opinion research institute found that four out of five customers were ready to pay a 1% premium on their electricity bills -- or around DEM 10 per household per year.
