Minnesota's 25 MW wind plant on Buffalo Ridge has now been officially dedicated and already officials are looking to build more. Under new legislation passed in Minnesota, Northern States Power will install 425-825 MW in the state within eight years. "At this point, what we know is we're going to look along Buffalo Ridge," NSP's Glynnis Hinschberger told the Sioux Falls Argus leader. Turbines could extend into South Dakota, she said. Indeed, the state of South Dakota is already installing wind monitors, said Steve Wegman, a member of the state's Public Utilities Commission and the South Dakota Renewable Energy Association. Several wind firms are now looking at South Dakota, he said.
