Official opening in China

Spain's Acciona opened its wind turbine assembly plant in Nantong, China, last month. The EUR 24.6 million facility, a joint venture between Acciona and the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, will produce up to 400 of Acciona's 1.5 MW units a year, bringing the firm's global capacity to 1680 MW.

New factory: Spain's Acciona opened its wind turbine assembly plant in Nantong, China, last month. The EUR 24.6 million facility, a joint venture between Acciona and the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, will produce up to 400 of Acciona's 1.5 MW unit a year, bringing the firm's global production capacity to 1680 MW. Vestas, too, inaugurated its China blade factory at Tianjin in June, announcing it would expand the plant and build a facility nearby for assembly of nacelles and hubs. By the second quarter of 2007, Vestas says it will be turning out 350, 2 MW machines a year in China.
