Schouw & Co buys shares in Micon

Schouw & Co -- which in 1993 had a turnover of $93 million -- has bought 25% of the shares in wind company Micon A/S from former director and company founder, Peder Mørup. An industrial heavyweight, Schouw owns the Hydra group and has interests in the Schulstad group of companies. It now owns Micon together with a series of mainly institutional investors. Peder Mørup pulled out of the company on January 1 and was replaced as director by Ole Bøgelund Nielsen who has extensive engineering management experience in Brazil. Micon, currently constructing a new factory complex in Denmark, has earmarked South America as one of its major growth markets.
