The California Energy Commission (CEC) is accepting applications for the 1995 National Awards for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. The programme, sponsored by the US Department of Energy, recognises outstanding projects promoting conservation efficiency and innovation in energy production use. Projects are evaluated on the basis of energy impact and programme results, transferability and economic impact, environmental impacts and outstanding attributes. One project will be nominated from each of several categories, including utility technology, energy and environmental stability, and industrial technology. Applications are due February 1.
