First Husum-built machines
1 September 2000
Production of the Jacobs Energie MD70 1.5 MW turbine is rolling at Husum, reports the company. It has moved its headquarters to Husum from Heide following the takeover of turbine manufacturer Husumer Schifftswerft early this year. The first Husum built machine has been delivered to Boreas Energie of Dresden for installation in Saxony, eastern Germany. Another 30, 1.5 MW machines will be installed before the end of the year, one of which is destined for Japan and four for Spain, says Jacobs. The first machines with a rotor diameter of 77 metres will go in the ground in September in Saxony Anhalt and Saxony.
