Plans for 49 MW wind farm in Gangcheng

Guangdong No 2 Hydropower Engineering Co Ltd is investing CNY 10 million ($1.33 million) to establish a solely owned subsidiary, Hainan Xinfengyuan Industry Co, to develop a wind farm in Gancheng Town, Dongfang City, located in the southernmost island province of Hainan. The 49.5 MW project will initially comprise 33, 1.5 MW turbines, although it may be expanded at a later date. The facility is expected to feed an annual 106.59 million kilowatt hours to the grid, with the rate set at CNY 0.6499/kWh ($0.0866/kWh). Guangdong hopes to start work on it next year.
