RWE ENERGIE IS TO CO-OPERATE WITH TACKE

Husumer Schiffswerft plans to install its first four 1 MW turbines at a site near Bosböll in Schleswig-Holstein in October. The operator company comprises 17 Bosböll residents -- people from outside the community were not allowed to invest in the project. The 4 MW wind station, named Sued-West Windpark, is subsidised by the Schleswig Holstein state and one of the turbines will also receive support from the federal research ministry's 250 MW wind programme. The 1 MW machine will be marketed at DEM 1.68 million, says HSW. The forerunner of the 1 MW was a 750 kW prototype installed in August 1993, now upgraded.

¥ Udo Postmeyer, who worked for many years at Husumer Schiffswerft, has now left the company, apparently to set up his own firm to build megawatt size turbines.
