PowerGen buys power and ROCs and LECs derivatives from Crystal Rig wind farm

Fred Olsen Renewables AS has entered into a 15 year power purchase agreement with Powergen UK for output from its planned Crystal Rig wind farm in Scotland. The £95 million contract covers the sale of electricity and associated green benefits -- such as its Renewables Obligation Certificates and exemption certificates from the Climate Change Levy. Crystal Rig, in Berwickshire, will have 20-25 wind turbines totalling 50 MW. The site has planning permission and Fred Olsen Renewables expects to commission it by the end of 2003.
