British wind power developer Mistral Energy and its wind plant ownership arm, Mistral Windfarms, start work in November on their first wind power project in France. The project, developed by a so-far unnamed third party, consists of three installations of 12 MW each in Beauce, Eure, west of Paris. It is to be commissioned next summer. Vestas will supply 18, V80 2 MW turbines and provide maintenance jointly with Windfarm Management Ltd. Mistral Energy says its focus on Britain and France enables it to balance doing business in the more risky British market with France's fixed purchase prices for renewable energy.
