Fuhrländer will install the prototype of its 1.25 MW pitch regulated machine with 58 metre rotor blades in the autumn, says the company's Walter Lutz. Fuhrländer's current workhorse is a 1 MW stall controlled model. The company also produces the MD70 1.5 MW turbine under licence from engineering company Pro+Pro, which is now part of competing manufacturer REpower Systems of Hamburg. Fuhrländer is considering developing a 2.5 MW machine, Lutz says. Meanwhile it is due to commission seven MD70 units at the Villa de Bispo 11 site in the Algarve region of Portugal in the summer, in a development adjacent to an existing project of the same name with Enercon machines.
